Children are always going to text
In the
article Texting May Be Taking A Toll written by Katie Hafner it shows how
texting isn’t very good for you at all studies are showing that too much
texting can cause temporary damage to the thumbs, and also that texting can
cause grades to drop in school rapidly. They are also saying that if the children
will never break free from the parents if they are always texting asking how to
do things the children will never grow up and become independent.
Peter
W. Johnson, a professor of environmental and occupational health sciences at the
University of Washington was telling how too much computer use can be bad for
you because of typing and they are saying like the same thing for texting too
much of it can cause thumb problems temporary or permanent damage.
Physicians
and psychologist say texting is leading to distraction in school and falling of
grades. They say it’s hard to focus on school work when you’re in to your books
and you get a text message it takes away your focus on the school work or
homework which will usually cause dropping grades because you don’t know
anything because you’re not paying attention.
In my
opinion I think most of these things are true text messaging is a distraction
and it probably will cause your thumbs to hurt if you do it too much, but the
thing about the distraction is if you really want to do your school work you’re
going to get it done you will put your phone away and do it.
Most people
who have cell phones in my opinion don’t do their work because they don’t want
to not because they are being distracted. When I get text messages I usually am
not doing my homework anyway I just do it in the morning so that’s why my
opinion is probably different from some or most people.
Good post Leroy. So it seems like you think that texting is no more addictive than anything else and that students who don't want to do homework will just find something else to distract them. Is that so? 95
