everything will be put to a stop
In
the article “Curfew imposed on teens to combat crime in East St. Louis” an article
written by KMOX, CBS St. Louis. This article
is about children that live in EAST ST. LOUIS the talk is about kids loitering
outside basically not going to school so the mayor Alvin Parks says if you’re
on the street during school hours you will automatically be arrested, minors
are to be off the street by ten o clock pm on weekends and weekdays, and the
police will be performing I.D checks on street corners and they are doing gun
searches. In the article it also says they plan to arrest men and young men who
are wearing gang colors parks said “No royal
blue, no bright red to be worn by our men or our boys in this community,” Parks
said. He also said “Vehicles that are moving will be stopped and searched for
guns, weapons, drugs, and open alcohol and any other violations that are taking
place.” In my opinion I think all that you can’t wear this color or that color
is dumb because if you want to wear red or blue you should be able to wear red
or blue. And the other quote like vehicles will be stopped if moving and
searched you cannot search any one’s car without a warrant so that will
probably be put to a stop. Also I think it’s a good idea to get the kids off
the street by 10 o’clock because things always happen to children after dark.
You've done a good job summarizing and including details. I do wonder, however, what you think of the curfew itself. It's one thing to say that kids should be off the street, and it's another thing to say that we should pass laws making it illegal to be on the street. Also, include the link to the article. 85
